The Pacific Roleplay Map and Certification

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the official Pacific Roleplay Map and Certification Thread!

For convenience, the mapping thread and certification thread will from now on be in the same place. In order to be added to the map, please fill in the form below and send it to @WesleyWestland. The section about military numbers is not required if you don't intend on going to war.

A few rules regarding the map:

  • Only nations that are certain to be actively roleplaying should apply to the map. Inactive nations will be removed.
  • NationStates' in-game nation information is hard to roleplay with, and is considered completely irrelevant to roleplay.
  • As part of your nation application, you will choose from three categories of population density: low, medium, and high. This will determine your initial population.
  • You may apply as a secondary nation (a so-called puppet or NPC), but this will only be accepted if you have a valid reason for it.
  • Do NOT post your application on this thread! Send it to @WesleyWestland in a private message instead.
  • The five questions below the map information are mandatory. Do NOT send in your application without answering them!

The Pacific Roleplaying Application
This application is for all looking to join The Pacific’s roleplay community. Every question must be completely and correctly filled out for your application to be considered. You may not roleplay in The Pacific before being certified as a roleplayer by completing this application and having it accepted by the Roleplay Overseers. This application may be attempted as many times as you wish.

Nation Information
Name of In-Character Nation (nation you intend to roleplay as):
In-Game Nation Link:
Government Type:
Head of State (e.g., the Queen of England, your nation’s figurehead):
Head of Government (e.g., the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, your nation’s leader in policy):
Brief description:
Map colour (may use hexadecimal):
Map claim:
Population density: Low (<50 people per km^2), Medium (between 51-150 people per km^2), and High (>150 people per km^2). Only very small nations should select high density.

Understanding The Rules
Please read the Pacific Roleplay Rules (click here) and make sure you understand them before you attempt completing this part of the application.

1. Your nation is at war with another nation. The enemy makes a post in which they are deploying 50,000 soldiers to the frontline. Based on this information and The Pacific’s roleplaying rules alone, would your nation know of this development in-character (IC)?

2. Your nation is at war with another nation. You are writing a post where you plan to drop an airstrike on the enemy’s forces. Based on this information and The Pacific’s roleplaying rules alone, should you post what damage your airstrike does to the enemy’s forces?

3. Your nation is negotiating a treaty with another nation. Instead of posting in your in-character negotiation thread, the other roleplayer suggests you both discuss this out-of-character in a private message. Based on this information and The Pacific’s roleplaying rules alone, should you go along with their suggestion?

4. You have sent a diplomat to establish relations with another nation. While visiting that nation, the roleplayer who controls that nation captures and kills your diplomat. Based on this information and The Pacific’s roleplaying rules alone, did the other roleplayer violate your out-of-character consent?

5. You want to equip your nation’s air force with the Lockheed-Martin F-35 fifth-generation stealth fighter. Based on The Pacific’s roleplaying rules, is this allowed?
